The Yuko Process

Embrace the technicalities of the Yuko process step by step in this easy to follow tutorial video.  The video series gives an overview for professionals to refer to in their own time when convenient.

STEP ONE: CONSULTATION

Hair analysis is conducted.

Clients hair type, chemical history, dryness and damage level is assessed.

STEP TWO: SHAMPOO & PRE-TREATMENT

Shampoo gently with appropriate YUKO Series Shampoo. If required, follow through with YUKO Series Conditioner.

– KokoroG: Volume with light texture

– Lock in Colour: For normal/coloured hair. Prolongs the richness of clients colour

– Cleansing: For normal to oily hair types. Balances scalp whilst moisturises hair

Apply appropriate pre-treatments in the following order. The pre-treatments prepare the hair with necessary nutrients for processing.

1. G Water: Applied all over. Keeps hair enriched and moisturised.

2. GPPT Protein Treatment: Applied over damaged areas. YUKO’s signature protein protects the integrity of damaged hair throughout the chemical procedure.

3. G Cream Controller: Applied over the top of GPPT to highly damaged areas. Provides extra protection cover for highly damaged areas.

STEP THREE: SOLUTION & PROCESS

YUKO Hair Straightening Solution is applied approximately 1-2cm away from scalp in 1.5-2cm subsections.

YUKO Hair Straightening Solution is left to saturate the hair.

The solution will physically change the internal structure of the hair.

Elasticity of the hair is checked after the appropriate processing time.

STEP FOUR: RINSE

Starting from nape, the solution is rinsed off completely and thoroughly.

If stylist or client is concerned about chemical odour, G Reactor can be applied over entire hair and then rinsed again.

YUKO G Reactor works as a pH balancer, a deodoriser and an intermediate treatment.

STEP FIVE: IRONING

After rinsing, G Hair Water is applied all over followed by G Heat Guard. Hair is blow dried until it is 80-90% dry.

1. G Water: Applied all over. Keeps hair enriched and moisturised.

2. G Heat Guard: Protects the hair from all form of heat.

Following the blow dry, the clients hair is now ironed to permanently create the straight shape. Hair is taken in 1-2cm subsections and ironed with a 90° perpendicular tension hold. Iron heat is not to be more than 180° and is adjusted accordingly to hair type and damage:

Healthy Hair: 150°-180°

Medium Damage Hair: 130°-150°

Fine/Highly Damaged Hair: 100°-130°

STEP SIX: NEUTRALIZE & STYLE

YUKO Hair Straightening Solution is applied approximately 1-2cm away from scalp and in 1.5-2cm subsections.

By applying the neutralizer, it conditions and finalises the newly straightened hair.

Starting from nape, the solution is rinsed off completely and thoroughly and followed by YUKO Series Conditioner.

After rinsing, G Hair Water is applied all over followed by G Heat Guard. Hair is then blow dried and requires the final ironing process to be performed.
